What is Mouse Gestures or Mouse Stroke?

Mouse Gestures allow you to operate a computer with simple symbols drawn by the mouse pointer, which means you don't have to touch the keyboard or even click on any menus at all! It helps you control your computer faster and easier than anything else.

(Tip: Some programs refer to mouse gesture as mouse stroke.)

What is the difference between the Mouse Gestures of Encsoft and others?

If you want to activate a mouse gesture in Internet Explorer / Firefox / Opera, you have to hold the right mouse button, move your mouse, then release the right button.

With our Mouse Gesture System or Gesture Recognize Engine, the only thing you need to do is moving your mouse to draw a symbol, a letter shape. No need to hold any mouse buttons or press any keys.

With our mouse gesture engine, you can activate any mouse gestures anywhere on your screen. It is not limited to a specified window or an area.

Unlike other engines, we don't track the clicking of the mouse. We just track the mouse movements. You may download our products to have a trial, you will love them!

How do I activate or perform a mouse gesture?

For example, the image left is the default mouse gesture for mgSwitch. (A letter "C")
To activate this gesture, the only thing you need to do is moving your mouse to draw the trace following the arrows. Doesn't it look like writing a letter "C" on the screen? It's so simple.

The video below shows you how to activate mgSwitch by drawing the default mouse gesture for mgSwitch:

Could I create mouse gestures myself?

Yes, our mouse gesture engine is highly customizable. You can use the Mouse Gesture Manager to add, edit, test, and delete any mouse gestures. Use the Mouse Gesture Editor to create or "draw" any mouse gestures as you like.
Here are the default mouse gestures in Mouse Gesture Manager:

I created a mouse gesture, but it was not recognized?

You should make sure whether the mouse gesture is in use or not. To check this, you may right click the icon of mgServer in the system tray. And select "Check gesture status" from the menu. Screenshot of the status dialog:

If the mouse gesture is in use, but you can't activate it, may be you need to do some practice or training in the "Mouse Gesture Editor" or "Mouse Gesture Wizard".

Why there are some images followed my mouse pointer when moving my mouse?

Those images followed the cursor, are used to show the mouse trace you are "drawing".
For example, if you are drawing the default mouse gesture for mgSwitch (letter "C"). When the gesture is recognized, those images will look like a letter "C".

If you don't like the image track, you can disable it in the "mgServer Config". Here is the screenshot:

Any other tips when using the Mouse Gesture System?

  1. Don't create a mouse gesture which has less than four arrows. (The arrows are shown in the Mouse Gesture Editor)
  2. If you are new to use our mouse gesture system, we suggest you should do some practice in the "Mouse Gesture Editor" or "Mouse Gesture Wizard" before using the mouse gestures.
